PROPRIETORS

Maisha K. Jones – Maisha is co-proprietor of The Urban Café. Maisha holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in African-American Studies from The Ohio State University. In May 2006, Maisha completed her Masters in Business Administration from Ohio Dominican University. Presently, Maisha is working on an Associates Degree in Foodservice/Restaurant Management from Columbus State Community College.

Currently, Maisha works for Ohio state government in Human Resources assisting Human Resources managers in planning and coordinating personnel operations. In addition, she serves as a project manager/event planner over various organizational initiatives, and serves as support staff for training within the organization.

Maisha served 4 years in the Active Duty Air Force stationed at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, MS. She served a 7 year enlistment in the Ohio Air National Guard in Financial Services serving as a supervisor in charge of Finance Customer Service.

E. Renee Brandon – Renee is co-proprietor of The Urban Café. Renee holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Ohio Dominican University. Renee holds a Masters in Education with an emphasis in Adult Learning and Human Resource Development from The Ohio State University. Also, Renee holds a Masters in Business Administration from Ohio Dominican University.

As Renee’s career has evolved she has simultaneously developed skills in the areas of entertainment services, event planning, baking and catering small events. Her food service experience includes fast food line service, cafeteria, vending and catering services; all of these needed skills have spanned over a 10 year period of learning.

Currently, Renee serves as Training Manager in charge of the Training and Development services for the City of Columbus. Renee is a native of Columbus, Ohio.
