ABOUT US The Urban Café, founded in early 2006 by best friends E. Renee Brandon and Maisha K. Jones, is Columbus, Ohio’s answer to a down home soul food restaurant and “eatertainment” venue. The Urban Café will provide an “eatertainment” experience by serving soul food tapas (small plates) and desserts, offering a full service bar, and spotlighting local talent in the lounge area via visual and performing arts. This environment will cater to Columbus, OH residents who desire a down home serving of fun, food, family, friends, and fellowship. At The Urban Café, we believe in family and a sense of community. We want and view our customers, suppliers, employees, and community partners to be just like family members; people that we support and people that support us. Our goal is to exceed our family member’s expectations; because if our family is not happy, we are not happy. We want all of our stakeholders to be appreciative of our products and services to the point that they consider The Urban Café to be just like home; a place they can always come back to.
